Universal Technical Institute - I wouldn’t change anything about my experience at UTI because it got me where I am today
I’ve been interested in cars since a young age when I followed my dad and his friends around while they worked on their street and race cars.As a little girl, I was interested in knowing how things work.
I used to save old stereos, cell phones and other electronics so that I could analyze them and find out more about how they worked. I learned about UTI because my dad saw a commercial on TV right around the same time that I was graduating from engineering school and had accepted my first job. He told me that UTI was everything I’d been looking for and I decided to learn more. It took me three years to quit my job and enroll at UTI but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
My favorite part about going to UTI was making valuable connections that will help me throughout the rest of my career. I had the opportunity to learn from highly trained staff members. Without the hands-on training at UTI, I would not have learned about the internship that eventually led to my employment at Roush Yates.
I have many opportunities to explore within NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula One and beyond. With the combination of my engineering education, UTI automotive technical education and eight years of experience in the industry, the career possibilities are truly limitless for me.
