Universal Technical Institute in Spring, Texas - Looking for legal representation

I graduated a "straight A student with perfect attendance on 06/10/2010. My first job started at $10.00/hour. Worked my butt off outside in the summer heat and winter cold and snow for 9 months. Only to be offered a 5% commission base raise (same as offered to a part time worker who was an auto mechanic). Moved back home and got a job in Pawleys Island, SC in the summer. I was laid off after two months. They told me I "needed more training" and that was while making a whopping @8.30/hour to start. At the end of 2014 that company closed the Pawleys Island location. The Marine Mechanics Industry was already slowing down since the 2008 recession and Marine Mechanics Institute knew it. Still, they lied about the money making potential. Now I'm $37,000.00 in student loan debt for a piece of paper that says I'm a "Certified Boat Mechanic". I want to join with the rest of the majority who want to sue to get their money back. The school has my email but never followed up as promised to check my progress. I was scammed.

Universal Technical Institute in Orlando, Florida - A joke

Back in 1993 I fell victim to a magazine ad. I was into British bikes and often the instructors would ask me basic questions any person would know if they knew anything about a major player in the motorcycle industry. I finished the program and because I did not finish a program for Suzuki- I owed MMI $106 dollars. I spent my GI bill paying these lowlifes money from my 12 years I spent in the service of my country. I still owe the government for loans for these people. I will fight these people until my dying breath, and I will contact my congressman or Senator for relief from a debt I paid many times over. Don't screw up like I did. They do not care if you are a veteran- it's all about the money.

I do agree uti doesn't teach Everything you need to know to hit the field and immediately start pumping out 60 hours a week flag, but the education is a very good starting point, as for jobs in the field: look at more than a few places, I'm currently in my last intro class at uti dfw and started at a mom and pop auto repair shop for 13 an hour flag only, i last week removed and replaced a transaxle on a car i had never touched before in 7 hours thanks to the education I'm receiving at uti, my boss has already informed me that as incentive to stay after graduation i will receive a $7 raise upon completion of my last course. For those who have said that the industry pay is barely above minimum wage should also disclose the business that made that offer, i.e. just brakes, zippy lube, ntb. There is a reason all your instructors tell you to work at dealerships and repair/performance shops!

Universal Technical Institute - Education Review from Cape Coral, Florida

I attended u.t.i. phoenix campus from 2011- 2014. Graduated with a 4.0 and almost perfect attendance. Also graduated from Ford, cummins engines, and power-gen with a 4.0. Got into the field and making the same as anyone fresh off the streets. The guys I work with laughed at me when they found out how much I paid for school cause the mechanic field don't make any money, specially not enough to pay back all them student loans! Please do not attend u.t.i.. It's a waste of money and the school is a scam!

Universal Technical Institute in Kingston, Pennsylvania - Critical

I don't and didn't attend the school but was looking for reviews for someone else and found this site. What I found was an overwhelming bias against the school by reviewers who could not put a simple sentence together nor had a relative grasp of the Kings English. I suspect the students that are attending are not ready for any kind of further training. If this was you the school system you attended must bear some of the responsibility and your backround as well. You need to be honest with yourself. If you don't know when and how to make a complete sentence or when to use their or there no school can help you. Do not spend the money and do not take out a loan. The fact that this school is a "for profit" enterprise is a concern as well and the reviews did not lessen my concern. This site is making me use one hundred words in order to be published as if the amount of words makes it more legitimate. Perhaps the website has other ulterior motives like raising cash . I see something about $5.99 per month as a premium something or other.

Universal Technical Institute - Review in Education category from Colleyville, Texas

I attend the Dallas campus. All the bad reviews and complaints on here are ***. They are all from people who think a tech school is supposed to be easier than college. This school is very fast paced, but it's easy to learn if you pay attention and ask questions. If you want to be an automotive technician and you have a good work ethic, you will excel.
